Washington DC, USA, 9 July 2011 - On July 9 His Holiness first went to the Kalachakra teaching venue to continue his preparation rituals. Newark, New Jersey, USA, 13 May 2011 - On the morning of May 13th, His Holiness the Dalai Lama left for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the venue of The Newark Peace Education Summit, a three-day conference focusing on peacemaking practices from around the world... Emphasizing that peace of mind comes through individual action, His Holiness added, “You cannot buy peace of mind and wisdom in the super market.

He said peace will come through action and genuine constructive action depends on will power. Will power, in turn, depends on self-confidence...

His Holiness said that at different times different teachers have highlighted the wonderful spirituality, the message of harmony.

In his concluding remarks, His Holiness said that he was not saying anything new but only being a messenger of the ancient Indian teachings.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama began his day on May 10, 2011 with a meeting with former US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues, Paula Dobriansky.

On July 13th His Holiness left for the teaching venue very early in the morning to undertake the self-generation prayers, part of the Kalachakra preparatory rituals. Later in the morning, His Holiness visited Capitol Hill to meet members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Speaker Penpa Tsering, KalonTripa-elect Lobsang Sangay, Special Envoy Lodi Gyari and Secretary Tenzin Taklha accompanied His Holiness...

In his remarks His Holiness talked about the significance of moral ethics and why people need to make special effort in adhering to them.

Toulouse, France, 14 August 2011 - His Holiness the Dalai Lama said he has been impressed with Kalon Tripa Dr Lobsang Sangay's views on education, praising his policy to generate 10,000 professionally trained Tibetans within the next decade... His Holiness went on to say that he has three fundamental commitments. The first is the promotion of basic human values and the achievement of full human potential.
