Thereafter, a long life prayer was conducted for His Holiness the Dalai Lama by the organizers of the teachings. Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche recited the attributes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, his contribution to humanity and the recognition he has been receiving from the international community.

Washington DC, USA, 15 July 2011 – On July 15th His Holiness the Dalai Lama conferred the main series of Kalachakra Initiations. Washington DC, USA, 14 July 2011 - On July 14th His Holiness the Dalai Lama began the first stage of the actual Kalachakra empowerment. Early in the morning, His Holiness left his hotel for the Verizon Centerto continue with the preparatory self-generation prayers.

On July 13th His Holiness left for the teaching venue very early in the morning to undertake the self-generation prayers, part of the Kalachakra preparatory rituals. Later in the morning, His Holiness visited Capitol Hill to meet members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Speaker Penpa Tsering, KalonTripa-elect Lobsang Sangay, Special Envoy Lodi Gyari and Secretary Tenzin Taklha accompanied His Holiness...

In his remarks His Holiness talked about the significance of moral ethics and why people need to make special effort in adhering to them.

Washington DC, USA, 11 July 2011 - On July 11 His Holiness left early in the morning for the Verizon Center to continue his preparatory rituals. Thereafter, he visited the offices of Radio Free Asia where he was received by its President Libby Liu and other senior officials.

His Holiness added that when he first laid out his Middle Way Approach he had maintained that ultimately, it would be up to the Tibetan people to decide.

Washington DC, USA, 9 July 2011 - On July 9 His Holiness first went to the Kalachakra teaching venue to continue his preparation rituals. Washington DC, USA, July 8, 2011 - On July 8th, His Holiness the Dalai Lama went to the Verizon Center, the venue of the Kalachakra teachings, to continue with the ritual preparations. Today witnessed the actual beginning of the construction of the Kalachakra Mandala by monks of the Namgyal Monastery. They will now be working in shifts day and night until the Mandala is complete.
