Once again we meet,
Reunited as a family
From a previous seek,
Of a different lifetime ago
Now flowing with sincerity,
We seek self- improvement
On our lips, we speak of
liberty,
Using the four bravest of
all vows
Our minds strive to awaken,
Through these cold Melbourne
nights
The freedom doors are now
open
Draping icy air over to
fight
Underneath the bed sheets we
shiver,
Struggling to pray as teeth
chatter.
Although limbs are touched
by frost
We have
learnt the glow is never lost
Do you feel the fire within?
Roaring, raging and hungry
Buried under our infinite
sins
Of lives that where of
yesteryear
May it destroy our gloomy
futures!
May it show us the light
that we have always had!
Eyes close, palms
respectfully meet
To engage in the daily
battle,
The great challenge against
inner wars
Externally flesh cries out
Demanding collapse and
surrender
But we remain strong with
faith and love
Oh! How the heart overwhelms
with gladness!
Witnessing selflessness of
cultivator,
A trickly tear slides down
our smiles
As we see brightness in
their future
I praise the sincere
volunteers:
Those unsung heroes, those
silent stars
Who had sacrificed precious
time
To quietly serve all beings,
Without a single grievance
or whinge
Our egos have been punctured
However, they hurt less
through time
The old scars have
eventually healed,
Now words of hate sound
sublime!
For the sake of sentient
beings,
With each and every day...
We can only hope for relief
of burdens
For The Abbot of Quang Duc
Monastery;
whom has done so much for
all,
accepted a thousand pound burden!
And sacrificed for Buddhism
of our Age
Responsibilities are endless
but efforts are paid off,
Glowing healthy children,
laugh and play
Learning morality from the
Buddha way
They bow in respect to
elders
And remember the Buddha
Dharma everyday
Imagine the future of filial
devotees like these,
who appreciate every breath
and everyone
The clouds that overwhelm
everyone, may gently blow away.
With sweet whispers of Namo
Amitabha
This would be the best
repayment to him
And to the original lord
teacher of ours
May the future give way to
enlightenment.
May the chains that bound
feet together,
Rust away forever to
blooming a fresh lotus flower.
